New stories

October 2, 2005

A little over two years ago, me and my good friends Marcel and Oscar finished high school. We all decided to go to the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. This wasn’t on purpose; our choice of university simply matched one another’s. Since then, a lot has happened.

Marcel left the VU after a few months, it simply wasn’t his thing. After sitting home, basically, for six months, he decided to go to the Royal Military Acadamy, to become part of the Cavalry– he is now studying and learning how to become a tank commander. Really cool. General major leftenant within-service corporal whatever :).

I, on the other hand, went on to do Psychology. This period lasted for two years, and as I have said previously on my blog, these two years really rocked. However, it also made it quite clear to me what I did not want to do with the rest of my life. Combined with my mother’s illness and all the impacts that had, I stopped Psychology (I sometimes joke the study got “too close to home”). After thinking all that over for a few months, I decided to pick up a study that would better fit my interests and possibilities. Information and Communication Sciences it became.

Oscar is the only one of us who is still doing the same thing as two years ago: Economics. He still likes it, and that’s really good. Me and Marcel are already the university fcuk-ups, and two is enough :).

When we three meet up, we are still the same as before we finished high school. Loud, slightly arrogant, completely ridiculous, funny as hell, and even serious and slightly grown-up if the need arises. Yesterday evening was one of those meet-ups again.

Daphne, Oscar’s girlfriend, celebrated her birthday yesterday eve. I haven’t laughed as much as I did yesterday ever since this January. It felt really good. I needed that.

We decided to go “university crashing” in a few weeks. We will pretend to be high school students, looking for a university. We’ll scouer the introduction days, go to major univeristy cities, and drink like fcuk. Dear lord, I cannot wait.

It’s time we get some new stories to tell!

Now playing: James Blunt, Cry
