I'm not really the convention kinda guy. I'll just read up on them on the net. And besides that, I might incite someone's anger when walking around in my OSNews tshirt :).</description>

It's that making jokes on the personal level is quite different than making them on an impersonal level (such as a blog), because a blog is just that-- a lump of text. From that lump of text one is incapable of getting the full monty behind the text.
