Violence is for the weak
November 23, 2005Two seemingly unrelated events in the news today. Firstly, British newspapers are reporting that Bush wanted to bomb the Al Jazeera headquarters in Qatar, a tiny state in the gulf region which has good ties with the US and the west in general. The US wanted to bomb an allied, independent nation because they are the home of an international news network that dared to criticize the United States.
The only reason that the US didn’t attack this country is because the British prime-minister Tony Blair asked Bush not to do so. The secret documents that revealed this got leaked. Downing Street has warned the media not to report on this, as, according to Downing St., it would be violation of the law. So basically, downing St. has now confirmed the story.
The second news item I wanted to talk about is what happened in Israel today (Dutch). The Israeli army has invaded Palestine yet again; this time the city of Jenin on the westbank. They are hunting for one of the leaders of the Islamic-extremist Jihad organization, Iyad Abu Rob. A spokesman of the army said the army had occupied a large building that supposedly was the hideout of Iyad Abu Rob– as a result they destroyed the building. The Israeli army went in with hundreds of soldiers and dozens of armored vehicles. They were greeted by Palestinians throwing stones– as a result, the Israeli army started shooting at the Palestinians, and as a result of which one died.
It’s like David and Goliath– only now Goliath has armored vehicles.
—
Now, why are these two news items related? Well, they both clearly show how wrong the US and Israel are. They are nations only out for one thing: war. Nothing more, nothing less. They must be stopped. Israel is a nazi state with apartheid, whereas the US are a bunch of Christian-extremists with lots of weapons.
Just… Dangerous. Stop the madness that is war, people. Violence is for the weak.
—
And on a happier sidenote: Andgela Merkel, the new German Bundeskanzlerin, has stated that Germany will not join NATO in the war efforts in Iraq.

Unfortunately, the only way to stop these countries, is with war. They don’t care about your opinion. And if all countries start a war with US, then it would be a world war III. And remember what Einstein said about it: “I don’t know exactly how World War 3 will be carried out, but I know that World War 4 will be done with stones and sticks.”
So, no one will dare to do anything against the US. Not now, not in the future. And stop wishing for it, because you only show that you are a naive idealist. The only way you can put US or Israel (moderately) in place, is through economical pressures, with the help of China.

It will take a while, but I really do see the US suffering the same fate as those middleeastern nations who they are now fighting against.
Fundamentalsit beliefs taking the center stage while rational thought is put on the back burner, more and more agressively defending their religious point of view.
Those in power outsourcing their businesses to other countries (who will eventually become the dominant world players because of it) and so on.
IIRC, there was a time centuries ago when the Islamic nations were the most advanced in the world. Look at them now. The US seems hell bent on going that way too.

Sad as it is, I just wanted to add one more thing (as it is my belief):
Evil is the only thing that we were ever really good at.
Its in our nature to destroy. To subjugate. To control. I don’t condone it, but I blieve it to be the way of things. We are dangerously primitive beings for all our fancy toys and knowledge.

No wonder aliens don’t wanna land in this rock. ;-)

No kidding.

Please don’t group all us American Christains together! The Christains who have taken our government are right-wing protestants, mostly based in the South. They are Puritans bent on turning the clock back 100 years. Us Roman Catholics, as well as Quakers, methodists and Lutherans are far more moderate.

This is true, Chris. Problem is, the protestants out-voted all the rest and when this happens, non-US people like to generalize.
Kerry did very well in California for example, where people are more open minded, while Bush won the masses in the East and the South, where many people are very fundamentalistic about some things. When these people voted, they voted a president that is compatible with their ideas about family and religion, but they completely ignored Bush’s behavior to other countries. I am sure that many of them that voted for Bush, don’t agree with many things Bush did outside of US. And yet, they would vote for him again, just because Bush is “one of them” in terms of family ideals. This is what I call “side-voting”: You support someone even if you don’t agree with him on most points, but if that someone is compatible with you on your most important point, then all the rest points don’t matter as much. In other words, the people who voted for Bush, they should simply change their priorities before changing any of their ideas or ideals.

I appologize for wording my posts as I had. I have a few Christian friends and I certainly wouldn’t group them in with the people I was refering to. When I generalize, its generally to make what I say less wordy.

Eugenia, the US is already on its way out. Economically, the US is flat broke. Your social security system is, well, almost non-existant. Poverty rates are high.
All the ingredients are there for the superpower of the US to slowly fade away. The emptyness that’s left will be filled by China.

Read Margaret Atwood’s “The Handmaiden’s Tale”; it paints a frightening potrait of the US after a complete right wing take over.
