February 16, 2006Christened a new word today. I was talking with Levi and Nadia about why there are never “Men’s Nights”, but only “Lady’s Nights”. And then I said: “That’s just pure sexcrimination.”

I know you are joking, but it is not anything like that. It’s just that up to a few years ago, men had ALL the nights out (so all nights were men’s nights, especially in mediterannean countries where people can stay up late, outside), and women had to stay at home and take care of the kids. And so, in the recent history, women established their “once a week, Lady’s night”. Today, there is no reason for it, because women are –for the most part– equal to men in freedom of movement. And so that term is just there for traditional reasons (at least in evolved countries) and not for any real reasons anymore.
