Genius
April 30, 2006I ain’t no fan of Bush, but this is fcuking genius.
Happy Queen’s Day everyone! Long live the Queen!
Note: Wikipedia fails to note that Queen’s Day may not be celebrated on a Sunday, hence this year it is on the 29th (a Saturday).
You know what’s kinda scary? That when you watch Dead Like Me, and Georgia gets… Work done (for the first time, actually), you actually feel a little bit jealous.
I so need to stop watching Dead Like Me until 2 in the morning.
Nintendo has announced the name for their new console– Wii.
The name is heavily critizised all over the world– but I don’t agree with it. I love the ideas behind the name– it sure beats the crap out of the soulless ‘Xbox360′ and the even-less-inspiring-than-a-crack-addict ‘PS3′. Nintendo just doesn’t believe in the ‘better graphics = better games’ principle, as Sony and Microsoft seem to do. And with Wii, Nintendo seems to stick with what it’s good at: making things that look utterly Japanese and cute, but sure do kick the ass of everyone else– even if the graphics are less stunning.
The chesire cat and Alice and me. Exactly one year ago, I made one of the most difficult decisions I ever had to make up until then (and now too, by the way). A year ago I told my family and friends I was going to quit my psychology study stande pede.
The decision of the century. Oh yes.
A lot has changed since then. My mother’s fight against cancer only just started at that time– now we’re past the chemotherapy, past the radation therapy, past the first checkups. I’m proud of her and my father and yes, even myself. My ‘new’ friends at my new study already mean a lot to me. I always prefer to believe I’m not one of the most easy going of people, but I think that’s more of a sort of defence mechanism than a proper description of reality.
Oh, fcuk me. I’m fcuking easy going and if you can’t fcuking see it, fcuk off.

A year ago the following quote from the best book ever written fit me damn well.
‘Would you tell me please, which way I ought to go from here?’
‘That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,’ said the Cat.
‘I don’t much care where-’ said Alice.
‘Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,’ said the Cat.
And it still fits me well. I still have no damn clue where my life will be going– all I know, just like a year ago, is that I’ll be alright. So then, did nothing change? If I still don’t know where my life is going, how the hell am I supposed to know how to actually lead my life?
The answer is simple: I don’t. But I’ve come to realise that nobody knows. Nobody has one hell of a clue where they are going, how they are getting there, and sure as hell they have no fcuking clue why they’re going where they’re going.
And that’s for the better. How damn boring would life be if you’d know exactly what’s going to happen every next morning?
I wanna tear your skin off, make pyjamas out of ‘m and wear ‘m to bed
Georgia of Dead Like Me, in episode 1 of season 2, when she’s training a new employee at Happy Time. Georgia died a virgin, and never had a boyfriend or whatsoever. This is so damn funny!
I’m watching season 2 for the first time now, so it’s all new to me. Such a fcuking shame the show got discontinued. When I win the lottery, I’ma bring the show back to life.
Today, exactly 20 years ago, the Tsjernobyl nuclear disaster happened. My deepest condoleances to the victims of this disaster, and my deepest of respect and admiration of the people who cleaned up the mess right after the explosion. Those people are heroes.

Yesterday went out again in Amsterdam, with the ladies (Martin, Marco, and Levi) and Nadia. Had a great time, and tried something new (Tia Maria with Bacardi). Today I enjoyed spring again, driving my car with the roof open, and The Police pumping through the stereo.
I’m so happy summer is coming.
Multiple times have you falsily accused me and Eugenia, and the rest of OSNews’ dedicated staff of purposefully only publishing articles and newsitems that were in line with our own personal biases. As any man or woman who is not mentally ill already knew, this is plain nonsense. They know OSNews is the most unbiased computer newssite on the web.
Another weird figment of your imagination is that your Apple newssite is somehow less biased because you supposedly only publish that what “the greater tech community” believes. However, when I asked you about the details of you Apple newssite, it became more than apparant that your Apple newssite is by no means different than OSNews; with the only difference that we have 120000 readers a day submitting news to 5 editors, and you have roughly 10000 readers submitting news to only one editor, namely, yourself.
That accounts for why your site is exclusively positive about Apple, and exclusively negative about Microsoft. Your own opinions govern your Apple newssite, and anything that contradicts you will not be published, no matter how often it has been submitted.
To illustrate to you why we are about 12 times as big as you are, let me tell you the following. A week ago, my weekly column was about me explaining why I was so fond of microkernels. And lo and behold, today we showed how openminded and unbiased we are, by publishing an article that is a direct attack on the viewpoints I expressed in the said column. Contrary to you, we do not try to stifle free speech on OSNews; in fact, we are open to it, and we encourage people to discuss matters openly– even if our readers have different opinions than we as staff do (and the moments the entire OSNews staff agrees with one another are rare, very rare).
There you have it. That is why OSNews is so much better than your little newssite, and why we will always kick your mentally disturbed ass when it comes to readership.

A lot of Royal news the past few days. In Nepal, a people’s revolt is going on against the monarchy there, because the King refuses to give away his absolute power. Now, as you all know, I’m a royalist through and through, but the moment a people demand their king or queen abdicate, he or she should, as simple as that. This way, the king of Nepal is destroying his own dinasty, and probably, the monarchy altogether. Fcuker.
And, of course, queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom and the rest of the Commonwealth Realms turned 80 this week. My congratulations to what I believe is the oldest still in power monarchy of the world. I’m happy that after a troubling 10-15 years, the British monarchy is back on track when it comes to popularity. Let’s hope the Windsor dinasty continues to stay in power for yet another long time.
And there’s Dutch Royal news too, of course. Currently, the the Grand Duke of Luxembourg is visting The Netherlands, and as former part of our Kingdom, this is of course a good thing. My best wishes to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg as well, of course.
And lastly, Palace Soestdijk will be opened for the public later this year, for three years. When Prince Bernhard (the father of my current Queen) died, the Royal Family said they had no intention of using the Palace as living or guest quarters, and as such, the property was automatically transferred back to the State. Awaiting a final destination and purpose, it will be opened for the public.
Who said the Monarchy was on its way out? Die republicans, die! Long live the Queen! :)
Bash is and always has been a very good way to kil some time.
