I’d do anything for her

May 27, 2006

It’s been a month of changes. Serious matters, like moving out to my own house. Less serious matters, like moving the DB9 down off of the top spot of most beautiful cars ever made in favour of the Alfa Tipo 33 Stradale. Now, here’s a more serious change.

Just now, while listening to “Bridge Over Troubled Water”, performed by Johnny Cash and Fiona Apple, it hit me: Fiona Apple is the best artist of all times (for me, obviously). While the top spot for best band of all times has firmly been grasped by The Eagles, the top spot for artist has been open for debate, personally. Alanis Morissette held the top spot through her first three albums, but after that, she became repetative. After Alanis, many contestants have fought for the spot: Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Cash, Fiona Apple.

But Fiona is the only one of those three who’s music, no matter what song, makes me stop in my tracks, makes me forget any troubles and worries. She’s the only one who can facilitate thinking about my two brothers, me mum’s cancer, everything. She is everything, musically.

I actually care about Fiona. Without her knowing it, obviously, she somehow means a lot to me, and I’d do anything for her.
