It’s autumn

It’s autumn, but you know what? I feel like spring today!
I’ve never been a huge fan of Mercedes Benz; I always found its cars the stuff for drug dealers and pensionados. However, as of late, they have really gotten onto something.
This all started with the gorgeous Mercedes CLS. This car represented the new design philosophy of the company, and I fell in love with it instantly. It was new, refreshing, excentric; exactly what I look for in a high-end automobile.
They continued this new design philosophy when they launched the new S class this year (according to many, the S class is the best car money can buy); this car, which is very popular in the region I live in, is a very impressive piece of machinery; let’s just say that if you want to know what kind of options your Renault or Opel/Vauxhall has in 15 years, just check the current S class. It’s the epitome of automotive technology.
In between the CLS and the S class, Mercedes launched the completely ridiculous but oh so desirable R class; a car so large, so big, so utterly intimidating, it’s just scary. It doesn’t show on pictures, but this car is larger than a 7 seat SUV.
And now they are finishing it off with one of the best looking cars I’ve ever seen: the brand new Mercedes CL:

Spicey. Mercedes can now add me on their fan list.
Only 9 days until election day (22 Nov.) in The Netherlands (for the Lower House). I was fairly confident I’d vote for Jan-Peter Balkenende and his CDA (Christian Democrats); our current prime minister. However, recently, I’ve been having my share of doubts.
I am considering giving my vote to the Party for Animals. What? Yes.
This party has never gained a seat in parliament, but they were always close. They are a party who want to have animal well-being and animal rights in our Constitution; they want stronger punishments for people who commit cruelty to animals, a complete prohibition of the bio industry (major point for me), and more of those sorts of things. When it comes to non-animal related points, they are slightly left of the political spectrum, but it is obvious that the animal part is what they are fighting for.
They are doing really well in the polls, currently getting 2-3 seats. I find their cause a noble one, and one that appeals to my heart and my emotions.
Only 9 days left…
And so yet again, the United States used its veto right to block a resolution condemning the Israeli attack that killed 18 civilians, including women and children.
So, besides the gargantuan list of resolutions Israel failed to comply with (a lot more than any other nation, including Iraq), there is also this huge list of resolutions blocked by the United States, all because the Jewish lobby in the US is so large and powerful. Of course the US financial/material aid to Israel is illegal under US law (US law prohibits aid to countries which have not signed the anti-nuclear proliferation treaty, which Israel did not sign), but really, the US civilians don’t care their government breaks their own democratic laws.
This unconditional support for Israel is the single biggest roadblock en route to ‘world peace’. The two biggest threats to world peace are not North Korea, not Al-Quaida, not any other terrorist organisation. No, The United States and Israel. They are the biggest threat to world peace.
I am not alone in this. A survey a few months back revealed almost 60% of the populace in the European Union see Israel as the biggest threat to world peace.
Seriously.
America needs Hillary Clinton as president. I don’t like her as much as I like her husband (Bill is such a cool guy), but I still think she’s the right… Err, woman for the job.
I need to find out what is the best album title, and what is the best song title. At this point in time, I find these the best:
Best album title: “License To Ill” - Beastie Boys
Best song title: “I Need Some Fine Wine And You, You Need To Be Nicer” - The Cardigans
Runners up to best album title: “When The Pawn…” by Fiona Apple (the title is actually an entire poem, but I don’t feel like reprinting it this time), this title so perfectly describes this out-of-the-ordinary album - I think that if Lewis Carrol’s Alice grew up to make music, tis album would’ve come out. A second runners up is definitely “Nebraska” by Bruce Springsteen. That one state’s name just so perfectly encapsulates the atmosphere of this legendary album.
You’re losing a friend
You got it all wrong
It’s not about revenge
But you’re losing a friend
I didn’t see it coming
With my head stuck in the sandBut now I’m loosing a friend
And it’s keeping me up
It’s the ribbons I tied
I would rather just die
Go to hell and crawl back
Than let you goYou’re losing a friend
You jeopardise me
Bad bad blood on your hands
And see, you’re losing a friend
I’m fickle and I’m vain
And you trick me over and over again
And now I’m losing youAnd it’s killing me
It’s the strings that I tie
I would rather just die
Go to hell and crawl back
Then let it all goMy mistake
To lose youOh no, oh no!
So this the end now
I’m losing you
Oh, look at you!
Look what you’re wasting
You’re losing a friend
Oh no, oh no!
I’m losing a friend
Oh, oh oh no

Enjoy.
I got a call from the…. Err, curtain shop today, my curtains were ready! After a few hours of work, my ridicoulously expensive curtains now finally give me full privacy in my living room!
I’m happy.
Oh, and congratulations to all of the United States for choosing the right path. Now, the Democrats aren’t all that much better than the Republicans (the United States political system is a relic of the past, it doesn’t work, choosing between 2 is just as bad as not choosing), but for the world, this is much better.
