Like an oil tanker in a ditch
January 28, 2007It’s American, so it falls apart because the build quality is unimaginably low, and of course it will handle like an oil tanker in a ditch. On the bright side, in a crash, you’re always at least 6 metres away from the point of impact.
But, who cares. People will be scared of you.

So totally agreed. Although some of the foreign imports are pretty shoddy too. Hyundai for example has pretty good build quality on the engines, etc. for the price. But the interiors are pathetically cheap plastic. The visor clips break way too easy, and they have other little annoyances.
In general, I’m severely disappointed with the cars available to me as an American. All the good ones are way too expensive…

Same can be said about some german cars as well (read VW). Unreliable but hey, the plastics are much better than the Americans.
Regarding the bbc clip, that chap should ask his own countryman what is the capital of Latvia for example. Or any country in Europe besides France and Italy for that matter.

Technically, it’s a German car. After all, it is Daimler-Chrysler these days. But it’s still a beautiful car. I’d buy one.
