But anyway

March 4, 2007

My blog hasn’t seen many US bashing as of late.

I just saw on the news that China is going to modernise its armed forces; they are giving a major financial injection, which is sorely needed if you look at the fact that while China spends 34 billion, annually, on its armed forced, the US spends 404 billion.

Sorely needed?

Yes. I am very uncomfortable with the United States being the only superpower in the world, especially taking into account the stupidity of its electorate. While electorates generally are stupid, whatever the country, the US simply redefined the whole idea by giving Bush a second term.

But anyway.

  1. IMO, it would be better to have a non-organ harvesting / non-dictatorship acting as a counterbalance to the US.

You could look to India or even possibly the EU in the future.

  3. I think EU needs to step up its military spending. Take the Bristish for example. I was reading somewhere that Royal Navy is at it’s lowest in 500 years.

Bear in mind as you type those words in the relative calm of a Netherlands that was 1) liberated from Nazis by the United States among other Allied nations and 2)was not made a Soviet satellite because of the US and NATO that, in spite of how stupid our electorate is or is not, you and the rest of Europe would be speaking German or Russian.
