"Most of most of their fans would tell them what your headline says. 'Shut up and sing' "

Maybe their fan base was full of retards ? How dare you say something I disagree with !

"Just because someone’s famous doesn’t mean they actually know a damn thing about what’s going on."

Just because they are entertainers doesn't mean they are stupid.

Maybe they know more than the tv talking heads that you seem to love so much.

"They spoke up, and most of their fans said they’re full of shit."

These are probably the same 1/3 of the people that would believe the president if he said Elvis was a terrorist.

So, democracy and free speech are for everyone– except for entertainers? That has to be the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard.

They've got the right to say it, we've got the right to tell them to go to hell. And people over here did just that. Any yes, most of their fans would tell them what your headline says. "Shut up and sing"

"Fans" who stop listening to something because they said something political they don't lioke are not fans. End of story.

Entertainers, whether musicians or actors are simply there to entertain us. People don’t watch them for their political views.

You know, the real problem for the Dixie Chicks is that their regular fans are very patriotic. There's a lot of people who support the president in that group. Yeah, they had a right to say what they did, they probably didn't pick the best location to do it.

But yes, sending them death threats was just plain stupid. Unfortunately there's too many idiots out there.

I remember, I was about to buy their second album at the time, never did spend the money on it. I'm glad to see the boycott of their music & so on. I wouldn't throw away my copy of their first CD, but I'm not going to buy their music anymore. In reality, that's the best thing to do, they showed their opinion, their fans showed theirs.

Entertainers, whether musicians or actors are simply there to entertain us. People don't watch them for their political views. People watch news programs and listen to talk radio for politics. Just because someone's famous doesn't mean they actually know a damn thing about what's going on. And that's their problem. They spoke up, and most of their fans said they're full of shit.

Also, insulting your fans and doing songs like "Not ready to make nice" probably won't prove good for a career. It's really sad too, because they really are talented.
