So, in that dream, there was this young princess, next in line to the throne, and she had two "teachers", one old age and a young one (who looked like a young Jonathan Frakes with a beard). She falls for him, and he for her, but they are not allowed to be together, as the royal family can only marry people from other royal families. I know it's off topic, but you said stuff about "retiring" and "private life" of royals, so I thought I'd mention my weird dream this morning. :D Funny you made that post today, because JUST this early morning I had this VERY weird dream (and you know how weird my dreams are).
