Hands

December 17, 2007

The best email ever sent, in the history of email. Ever and ever. No one will ever top this.

Would everyone in the room who maintain a complete, working operating system please raise their hands?

would everyone who is forced to co-opt or recommend other people’s operating systems… because their own is unfinished… please go away and write some code or something?

thank you very much

If you don’t get any of this, don’t worry, it means you have a life.

  1. OpenBSD sucks, stupid fork of NetBSD.

    GNU/Linux forever.

  3. As I wrote in the thread…it’s an utterly irrelevant straw man.

What does it have to do with the topic?

  4. Nothing at all.

But anyway, the RMS vs. Theo superheroes’ fight, also hardly make any sense.

  5. AdamW, this is just FUN. It’s not my fault these people are butchering each other, doing only harm to the free software world… Don’t blame us for calling it what it is, namely a bunch of idiots proclaiming they have the longest penis.

Microsoft and Apple must be laughing their asses off (again…) right about now.

  6. Laughable considering OpenBSD was just a fork of NetBSD.

    >please go away and write some code or something?

Doubly laughable. Stallman is no Eric Raymond, ever wonder where that compiler you’re using came from? I’m willing to bet a large chunk of devs also use Emacs. Linux people are even more indebted to him than BSD.

  7. I love how RMS defends free software, I wish there was more people like him in the world :-)

    GNU/Linux rules.

  8. Leave it to Thom to quote this mail instead of one of the polite, on topic messages from Richard that reiterate and expound on his beliefs without saying everyone else is wrong. Of course Thom would hero worship the asshole in the exchange.

  9. Cliffton, grow a sense of humour. If you can’t see how this is downright funny you really need to get out more.

  10. You forgot the best part , the sender and mailing list …

OpenBSD : Complete, working operating system

They just haven’t built the hardware for it yet …
