Tacky
March 15, 2008I never understood the world’s obsession with gold. What’s so enchanting about this metal? It’s too soft and heavy to be of any real use, and yes, it’s resistant to corrosion, but so are many other metals. I find gold’s colour ugly; it lacks depth. And gold isn’t even that rare compared to, say, platinum.
To me, silver and especially platinum are much more attractive. I love the ‘depth’ of platinum; it’s like nature captured the depth of the ocean between a plate of silver and glass. It’s exceptionally beautiful.
Repeat after me: gold is tacky, platinum is classy.

I completely agree, gold is just some ugly kind of yellow or something…
That’s why I make my boyfriend wear silver only, unfortunately, now he’s wearing both gold and silver… :-(

I find all “precious” metals useless when used for jewelery. Each metal can have its usage in construction of stuff, but as jewels they are irrelevant to me. Stones too. I was never attracted to jewels. In Christmas or Valentine’s or around my birthday JBQ tries to buy me a nice jewelry, only to rebuff him and tell him that I don’t want anything like that. I have a golden cross and a neckless, gifts from my mother and father in law respectively, and if you ask me where they currently reside, I couldn’t tell you. I don’t remember where I placed them years ago after receiving them…

I only wear and eat metal. Palladium chains and fronts is balling dawg. Now I’m gonna eat a bowl of lead paint chips !
Seriously, I don’t give a rat’s ass about jewelry.
When I think of jewelry, I think of stupid rappers, Mr. T and guidos.
