					<description>If it really is the IDE controller which has gone faulty you could just get an el cheapo PCI IDE controller card. You can probably buy refurbished ones for around 10 euros or even a new one for 25 euros. That way you could also verify the cause of the issues: if they disappear then you can pretty much conclude that it really was caused by malfuntioning IDE chipset.</description>
