CBS wanted it that way. After the fans forced the network to bring it back, CBS decided to do it in a half assed way. They made the first season with a full 22 episodes, and then wrapped up the entire series with a 7 episode season 2. It was just a "screw you" to the fans to try to shut them up. Jericho was an amazing show and season two was meant for the fans. Jericho had been cancelled but the network caved into the the "Nuts" campaign and brought it back in order to give some closure to the fans. I think the second season did just that. Sure, it could've been better. They had to rush things a bit in order to close out the storyline. Sub-plots had to fall by the wayside but what we got was exactly what Jericho was all about. In fact, I think Jericho as a whole is near-perfect television. I've blogged about it, if you want to check it out. I have to disagree. Jericho was an amazing show and season two was meant for the fans.
