Californication

October 31, 2008

The worst television show in the history of ever. This show has actually managed to fake depth.

And you know what? All those people who get off on the word “indie”, all those people who buy MacBooks just because they think that makes them different, all those people who pretend not to care about stuff, you know, but who are even too empty and pointless to even do the right thing and become an emo - or worse yet, a gothic - so that we’d at least have a legitimate reason to kill them. Those people? Those are the people that like Californication.

I’d rather watch Hypnotoad on Blu-Ray with 7.1 surround sound on a 200cm plasma display for 10 days on end than watch just 5 minutes of Californication. I’ve never seen such shallow, pointless, story-less, humourless, direction-less piece of unimaginative drivel.

It’s that awful.

Indie is important, as much as open source and Creative Commons are. Californication is not indie btw. It’s a Hollywood production.

Stop watching crap btw. There is absolutely not one TV series right now that’s worth watching. I suggest you just retry Firefly, but make sure you view the episodes in order (starting with the 1.5 hours tele-movie), as the order they aired was not the right one and this made lots of viewers to not like the show. The right order can be found in Wikipedia.

  2. You might hate Californication but there are many that really enjoy the show. I’m one that looks forward to it each week. Oh well, to each their own

Yes, but there’s a big difference between stuff that’s marketed as being ‘indie’ and actual ‘indie’ stuff, whether it’s movies, music, etc. Just like Hot Topic is ‘underground’ and not mainstream, but really it’s as mainstream as it gets.

  4. How could something with an emphasis on sex possibly be swallow?

  5. @Andrew: Well, ain’t that a freudian slip?!
I hope you meant shallow, in stead of swallow… ;-)

  6. What on earth is “emo”?

  7. LoeZ, it’s the damnedest thing: I was trying to think about the redeeming qualities, the most meaningful part of my first episode, and all I could come up with was a chick going down on someguy in a van. I remember the slurping sounds, see people, it’s that attention to detail which makes this show truly great.

  8. What on earth is “emo”?

    Mass produced individualism.

  9. This is hilarious! The guy that praised “Armageddon” a few days ago, criticizes Carlifornication for lack of depth. HAHA

“shallow, pointless, story-less, humourless, direction-less piece of unimaginative drivel.” This describes “Armageddon” (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120591/) exactly!

Even those words are kind to a film like “Armageddon”!

You got to be fucking kidding me. Talk about hubris.

Maybe it’s because Armageddon doesnt pretend to be something it isn’t?
