Happy Birthday!

Someone who is 76 told me that he still thinks like a 20 year old..
This is the big "tragedy" if I may call it so, our minds remain young, but our bodies age and betray us.
I'm 40 and I remember thinking at 30 as "old". Yeah, right :)

What, you plan to die at 52? Heck, I'm 37 and plan to live at least another good 50 years.

I’m turning 24 today. Only six more years until I’ll start dying.

Well, you could get hit by a bus *tommorow*, if that makes you feel better.

Time seems to pass faster and faster the older you get. To quote John Cleese's Basil Fawlty -

Basil Fawlty: "Zoom! What was that? That was your life, Mate! That was quick, do I get another? Sorry, Mate. Back to the world of dreams. Yes, dear?"

Don't worry, Thom... It is a well known fact that a young person who is fifteen seems to consider a person who is 19 extremely old, and a person of 20+ some years usually considers people who are over 30 as really already old, etc. But in reality, after you've got 20, there's not much difference in thinking and not even in outlooks anymore until you get to pension age and if you stay healthy.

Recently I just talked to an attractive woman I know, who, I thought, would be and looks maybe 30 something, and to my surprise learned that she is actually already 55.

What matters is how you feel about yourself, not the actual age.

It is in fact, quite a disgusting idea promoted by commercial mass culture that teenager looks and thinking would be somehow ideal. We need to get some respect for older people back into our societies.
