I find it rather pathetic that the only entry on Planet GNOME so far regarding KDE 4.2 is some guy complaining about the release announcement using Flash for the screencasts. From a project that embraces such a controversial technology like Mono.
Jealous much?

It’s not the only entry. There’s also a positive/congratulatory entry from Jason Clinton listed on there, dated January 26th called ‘KDE 4.2 rocks’… Direct link: http://jasondclinton.livejournal.com/71412.html

(FTR, I use Gnome but I think KDE 4 is impressive.)
I’m not sure Mono is that controversial when it comes to Gnome. There are no Mono dependencies in Gnome, and Mono is fully open source; the patent stuff is all bogus anyway so I don’t see how this is that bad.
But you’re right Thom, the KDE vs Gnome politics is silly. I for one think Gnome should be a little more worried about KDE’s progress, even though there is little to fear for the next couple of years since Ubuntu is basically Gnome.

First off: I’m using KDE 4.2 right now.
Second: stop beeing a fanboyish crybaby.
Why does the whole world have to complement the KDE team for releasing their software?
We should complement them for releasing bug free software, which KDE 4.2 ain’t!
They have made some improvements with this release by eradicating bugs, but does that justify praising it to the skies?
Try to be a little more objective. It doesnt do the trick for me just having a little less bugs.
No major bugs, that’s what we’d agree upon.

Mono is free software. Flash is not.
