Hi there, I’m a long time OSNews reader, only relatively recently registered (RRockMan), and only today discovered that the news I read every day come from someone of more or less my age!
My first comment in your blog is somewhat sarcastic, as I read with dismay that you “fell” and oredered your iPhone, but well, if you needed such a device, and hearing how the story was (same in Italy I think), I guess it was more or less a forced choice. (Even if I still hope you reconsider last-minutely! :-D)

..so I am posting here to bring something to your attention.

In that story you wrote.
” “Psystar has not destroyed documents,” is the simple but direct reply to the situation from Psystar’s lawyers.”

That quote was from Psystar’s lawyers to a web publication! Not to the court. Their reply to the court was not quite as “simple and direct” as you would like to think. Here it is:

“At no point did Pystar take affirmative action to either destroy or not preserve these intermediate master copies. Rather, Psystar innocently failed to initiate new measures to preserve certain of its electronic data” (Souce Groklaw.net)

Sorry but it’s just poor journalism to make conclusions(about a court case) based on quotes to the media.

Regarding your post here. Don’t you think that you are being a little disingenuous in claiming that you are not” Anti-Apple” when you announce that you will not be buying any of their products and you write …”Apple is rotten. To the core” ??

You do make a good point, Thom. But still, I like their soft- and hardware so much, I’m not giving up my MacBook and iPhone. You got my moral support on this one.

It takes blood, sweat, and tears to build an image, Apple. It takes only a second to tear it down. It’s the geek crowd that got you where you are today. Lose them, and you will lose everything.

I agree withe every point you have outlined in your post hence for not owning an iApple Product. I really do like the iPhone but guess what: I am not getting one for the exact the same reasons you have mentioned.

Guess what I am getting instead of an iPhone. I am getting the HTC G2/Magic! A pure Android experience. I will never consider any Apple product.

As I wrote to Adam’s blog, in a lot of that behavior, there’s AT&T behind it.

Be sure to send an email to Apple about all this. I did so yesterday.
